These are like what I do when I draw at events such as
parties, trade shows, company picnics, bar or bat mitzvahs, festivals,
fairs and so on.
They are carefully drawn but they are "one-offs" in which
I make just one single best attempt at capturing a good likeness in
a funny style. Drawing funny comes naturally to me, but often if I do
several iterations they get funnier and funnier. So this doesn't produce
the funniest version I could come up with, but it is still a lot of
fun, and for many people they actually prefer this to the more extreme
caricature.
If you look very, very closely, you can see that the line quality is
slightly "shaky," not super-slick, not a perfectly "clean"
line, but a lot of people find this endearing because it shows the human
touch. It is reminiscent of Charles Schulz or Dr. Seuss, whose lines,
if you look closely at them, have this less-than-perfect, un-mechanical
quality. (Obviously if you get TOO shaky, it becomes just messy-looking!)
Look at the samples and judge for yourself what you like and what you
wish to spend.
